Project delivery through BIM is slowly gaining momentum in Australia, revolutionising the construction sector and transforming the process by which projects across building construction, infrastructure and property sectors are delivered.
BIM supports all the essential project delivery elements from planning, design, cost and asset maintenance through an integrated platform. This improves the way projects are delivered with greater speed, accuracy, transparency and visualisation. To achieve this, a degree of knowledge and skills through a robust framework has been developed.
The Australasian Procurement and Construction Council (APCC) and the Australian Construction Industry Forum (ACIF) have released the Building Information Modelling (BIM) Knowledge and Skills Framework.
This framework responds to the increasing need for an effective and integrated approach to project delivery that will transform building and construction industry practices. This will greatly improve the way projects are delivered for clients and optimise project outcomes.
